Summary: This is a hotel with great charm, history and a welcoming, classy atmosphere. The staff were all outstanding, warm, friendly, professional and keen to provide high standards of hospitality and service. Our room was well appointed, well equipped and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. The location is perfect. Bar and restaurant extremely good. Only slight downside was that some aspects of the room would benefit from a refurb/refresh, a bit of investment needed. We would not hesitate to return, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Special thanks to the day and evening bartenders, check in team, breakfast team, concierge and night manager (wish I’d got their names). Be careful re the carpark, register before you go to pay online as if you try to register after leaving you face a fine as we found to our cost. For us we wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Chester now and look forward to our next visit.
